Our story

Our Story image

There’s a moment we all share; when the world asks who we are, before we’ve had the chance to truly find out. That moment comes when we leave school. For some, it’s filled with excitement and possibility. For others, it’s confusion, pressure, and quiet fear. The question “What are you going to do with your life?” is impossibly heavy to answer.

Year13 was born from a promise to make that moment easier.

Founders, Saxon and Will, watched too many of their friends struggle in that fragile transition from school to the world beyond. Some lost their way. Some lost their lives to the weight of expectation and uncertainty. They set out to change that, to help every young person navigate life after school with confidence, consideration and purpose.

“What are you going to do with your life?” is impossibly heavy to answer.

What began as a small idea between friends has grown into a national movement - now reaching over 1.8M young people and over half of all Australian middle & high schools. Along the way, governments, educators, brands and industries have joined the mission, united by a shared belief: young people deserve better.

Better guidance.
Better opportunities.
Better futures.

Now, that promise is going global.

With Anyway, we’re bringing this mission to the USA - to help every young person, everywhere,
find their thing.

What others are saying

"Microsoft and Year13 have further collaborated to design and implement AI solutions that personalise career guidance and improve student outcomes"

"Partnering with Anyway has been a game-changer for Communities in Schools of North Carolina. Their innovative approach to bridging the gap between education and employment aligns perfectly with our mission to support students' success. Together, we are empowering young people to take charge of their futures with confidence and clear pathways to achieve their dreams."

Jill Cox

CEO, Communities in Schools

North Carolina

"The economic impact of poor transitions is staggering, with 30 per cent of university students and almost 50 per cent of apprentices dropping out in their first year. Skill shortages in the US alone are projected to cost an estimated US$8.5 trillion in lost GDP. Year13 aims to address this, seeing a total addressable market of approximately US$300bn in the US."

"Anyway has partnered with the Future Skills Organisation for the past three years, with the core objectives of building awareness and consideration among youth audiences of careers and pathways within the tech industry, educating on the benefits and importance of developing digital skills, and supporting industry engagement through research and insights that provide additional value and demonstrate tangible impact to key stakeholders and partners."

Patrick Kidd – Chief Executive Officer

Future Skills Organisation

"Year13 has supercharged its mission to revolutionise education, acquiring Student Edge, giving it a reach rivalling TikTok. It is now setting its sights on the US as it aims to become Australia's next tech unicorn"

"The partnership over the last couple of years has been really productive and the new features to the platform I am confident will support increased engagement. Thank you for your availability and commitment, it has been an enjoyable experience working with you"
